Location. The Sokos Hotel Ilves is located in Tampere, Finland, on the banks of the Tammerkoski rapids and adjacent to the Koskikeskus shopping centre.
Hotel Features. With its own nightclub, and a variety of restaurants and bars, the 19 storey hotel is a landmark building in the centre of Tampere. Guests can work out using the hotel's fitness equipment and then have a cooling dip in the indoor swimming pool, before relaxing in the traditional Finnish sauna. Currency exchange is available at the 24 hour front desk where multilingual staff can assist with travel and tourist arrangements. Guests can also take it easy in the bright lobby, where there is a television, and coffee and complimentary newspapers are provided. Garage parking is available (surcharge).
A complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning at the Sokos Hotel Ilves. Lunch and dinner menus at the various onsite restaurants include Tex Mex, French, Italian, and Scandinavian specialities. A British style pub has a large selection of beers. Refreshments are served throughout the day at the poolside bar and room service is available during opening hours.

Expert Tip. Visitors to Finland cannot return home without experiencing a traditional Finnish sauna. Of the two million in the country, Rajaportin is the oldest public sauna, 1.5 kilometres from the hotel

Getting there. Public Transport Bus number 61 operates between the airport and Tampere. Journey takes about 40 min. Taxis are available from outside the Arrivals hall and cost around 28 EUR to the city centre. All prices are subject to change.
Getting around. There is a good public attractions. All day tourist tickets cost 6 EUR for the first 24 hours and 4 EUR for each additional 24 hour period. Tourist tickets can be purchased at the train and bus stations. Single journey tickets, valid for 1 hour, cost 2 EUR and can be purchased on the bus. All prices are subject to change.
