Set in a rural location amidst olive and citrus trees, the Hotel Il Podere is a renovated farm with a stone fa�ade dating back to the late 1800s, sited six kilometres from the centre of Siracusa on the south eastern corner of Sicily's Ionian coast. This two floor hotel features 25 guestrooms with soft decor in earth tones, with antique furnishings reflecting the style of late 19th century country villas. Modern amenities include air conditioning, televisions, minibars, direct dial phones, slippers and bathrooms with complimentary toiletries.
Guests can sunbathe on loungers on the patio and cool off with a dip in the large outdoor pool before strolling among the fountains, wells and olive and citrus trees of the 12,000 square metre gardens. The traditional Il Podere restaurant features exposed stone walls, archways and antique style furnishings, and offers authentic Sicilian dishes prepared using local produce. Other practical amenities include a dry cleaning service and complimentary secure parking for guests arriving by car. A range of water sports are available at nearest beach, eight kilometres from the hotel, and there is a golf course six kilometres away. The ancient city of Siracusa, six kilometres from the hotel, boasts numerous attractions of historical interest, including Greek, Roman and medieval sites and the Paolo Orsi Archaeological Museum. The Baroque city of Noto is 30 kilometres away. Cantania Fontanarossa Airport is 55 kilometres away with an approximate driving time of 60 minutes.

Taxis and hire cars are available from the airport; a typical taxi fare to the hotel is approximately 60 EUR. The nearest railway station is six kilometres away in Siracusa. The surrounding area is best explored by car.
Driving directions: From the airport, take the SS 114 to Siracusa. From Siracusa, take the SP 14 towards Canicattini Bagni. After two kilometres, take the SR 3 towards Fonte Ciane and follow the signs to the hotel for four kilometres.
