Location. Blending old western charm with modern convenience, the Sheraton Gunter Hotel San Antonio is directly across the street from the Majestic Theater in downtown San Antonio, Texas. The state's top tourist destination, the San Antonio Riverwalk, is one half block from the hotel. The Alamo is four blocks away.
Hotel Features. The boutique hotel features a Victorian style pub with lead glass windows and a long oak bar. Live music is performed at McLeod's on Friday and Saturday evenings. American regional cuisine is served at the on site Barron's restaurant and the Sheraton Gunter Bakery serves fresh pastries and desserts. Original preserved features of the hotel include a switchboard, barbershop and opulent antique furnishings. The hotel includes an outdoor pool and spa tub nestled in a courtyard with city views. A 24 hour fitness center with cardiovascular equipment is also on site.
Guestrooms. The hotel's 322 guestrooms feature custom designed, plush top mattress sets and duvets with down pillows. Rooms are equipped with wireless Internet access. Cable television and video game consoles are also provided.
Expert Tip. The Sheraton Gunter Hotel celebrates continuous operation since it was first dedicated on November 20, 1909. In its earlier days, the hotel served cattle and oil barons. An example of its history is portrayed in the lobby by an antique photo of Tom Mix, a Western star, checking in on his horse.
